Friend Family Association of America will be holding its 2020 Gathering in Friendsville, Maryland on August 21, 22 and 23.

The purpose of the Gathering is to continue to provide opportunities to research and share family genealogies, meet new family members, renew  acquaintances of the past, and visit attractions of the local area.

Friendsville is named after its first European settler, John Friend, who came to what is now Garrett County before the American Revolution. Many of Friend’s descendants live in Garrett County today, and the headquarters and library of the Friend Family Association are in Friendsville because of this connection.

Plans for our Gathering are still in the early stages and as they develop, they will be posted in Facebook, newsletters and emails. We’re looking forward to seeing you in 2020 in
Friendsville!

Additional details, along with an online registration for the Gathering, will be published soon on our website, on Facebook, email and in a special newsletter.
