Andrew Coleman Friend was the
Third child of Joseph Friend and Sarah Green. Andrew
was the grandson of "Old" John Friend, founder of
Friendsville and patriarch of the Garrett County Friend Family. Andrew Coleman
Friend married Sarah Nancy Harden and with their seven children lived their
lives in the Friendsville area. We have divided the information on Andrew
Coleman Friend and his family into three separate books. This book details the
life of Andrew Coleman Friend and his children. Two sons, Jonathan "Sugar Joe"
Friend and Joab Jonah Friend are briefly outlined in this book and are featured
in great detail in two separate books.

This book is the promised continuation of
Pat Smith and Patty (Friend) Thompson’s Friend Family Series of Garrett County,
Maryland. This
reference book is comprised of over 634 pages, fully indexed and presented in an
outline format. The authors openly welcome and encourage any additions and/or
corrections to this information.
The authors can
be contacted through the Friend Family Association of America (FFAA) at
Friendsville, MD or by e-mail through the FFAA web-site (www.friendfamilyassociation.org
). The initial cost of printing the book has been donated to the FFAA. Proceeds
from the initial copies and reprints produced by the FFAA will
go to the FFAA (a non-profit organization). All book sales are tax deductible.
The author will sign each book in the initial offering.
Black and white spiral bound copies can be purchased for $60.00 (plus $10.00
S&H) or a CD at $30.00 (plus $5.00 S&H). The CD contains a color copy of
the book in a PDF format (requiring Acrobat 7.0). Earlier versions of Acrobat
can open the text, but not all the images.
