Friendsville
sits in the Northwestern corner of Garrett County, Maryland and was founded in
1765 by John Friend Sr. (1728 to Aft. 1808). This
book is a reflection of the numerous works that were written on Friendsville,
while encompassing some new materials. This book is intended as an avenue to
bring the history of the area back into the forefront and as a gentle reminder
to those who have read the previous writings. This book is comprised of 142
pages, fully indexed and contains over a hundred photographs with maps from the
turn of the 20th century to the present. Additions or corrections are
welcomed and the authors can be contacted through the Friend Family Association
of America (FFAA) at Friendsville, MD or by e-mail through the FFAA web site. (www.friendfamilyassociation.org
). The initial cost of printing the book has been donated to the FFAA. Proceeds
from the initial copies and reprints produced by the FFAA book
will go to the FFAA (a non-profit organization). All book sales are tax
deductible.
The spiral bound
copies can be purchased for $20.00 (plus $5 S&H) or a CD at $10 (plus $5
S&H). The CD contains a PDF format (requiring Acrobat 7.0) of the book.
Earlier versions of Acrobat can open the text, but not all the images. Credit
card purchases can be made by using Pay Pal at the FFAA web-site.
Orders paid by check
(made payable to the FFAA) should be sent to:
