A Brief History of Friend's Delight, Sang Run, Maryland

A Brief
History of
Friend’s Delight
Sang Run, Maryland

By
Patty-Friend-Thompson
Doug Custer, Editor

Friend’s Delight has been a part of the Friend family’s memories since 1799 when John Friend, Sr. obtained title to the land from Paul Hoye.

In 1808, John Friend, Sr. passed the ownership of the land to his son, John Friend, Jr. and since that time, the Friend family has owned and resided upon this land.

The Youghiogheny River borders the property in a quiet, secluded area of Garrett County, Maryland and through deeds, wills, maps and photographs its history has been recorded in this twenty seven page booklet.

Black and white copies of the booklet are available through the Friend Family Association of America, with all proceeds going to organization, for $7.50  (S/H $1.50)
